Are Elder people at more risk?
The most effected people from this virus is people above the age of 60. If symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath is visible then do not try to take care of the elder parents or relatives. It is better to consult your family doctor. World health Organization has also identified elderly people vulnerable to the novel coronavirus. The government has asked older people to avoid crowds as much as possible, as elder people might have chronic conditions which could worsen the situation.
Is COVID-19 affecting children as well?
Few studies suggest that a smaller number of children get fever, shortness of breath or cough. Severe illness has also been reported in children in few cases. First of all, it is a fact that immunity is strong in childhood and decreases as you turn old.
Stop the virus from spreading
1. Use sanitizer
You should wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching objects as much as possible.
2. Avoid contact with pets
Avoid any kid of contact with pets like sharing food, being kissed or licked.
3. Social distancing
It is the most crucial step. Maintain social distance while going out to buy groceries or any essential item.
4. Don’t mix clothes
A typical Indian family believes in sharing. Make sure the towels they use or the chair or sofa they sit on shouldn’t be used by anyone else in family.
5. Thoroughly wash clothes and utensils
Make sure elder people wear fresh washed clothes everyday. Dry utensils are washing them.
