Hey Muskan. Welcome to HealthRoom!

1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.

I was born and brought up in Rajasthan. Since childhood, I had been a curious kid - wanting to explore new things. I got into practicing yoga at the age of 14 and fell in love with the practice. Later after my graduation, I started working in corporate but then I realized it was not my calling and began taking online yoga classes along with my corporate job and since then, I’ve never looked back!

2. How long have you been practising yoga?

I started at the age of 14, so It’s been almost 9 long years since I have been practicing Yoga. I never wish to stop!

3. Where does your passion for yoga stem from?

Initially I started Yoga for myself, as I was an obese child myself. I wanted to become healthier and I did but also fell in love with the practice. I kept touch with it throughout my teen years. But when COVID hit the world and I was doing my corporate job, my mental health took a toll and felt my calling for yoga more loudly but this time more holistically. In a span of few months, I realised how strong the mindfulness part of Yoga is and that’s how I made a decision of quitting my corporate job and MWM (my organisation - Mindfulness with Muskan) was born! When I teach, I create a better place for people around me as well as around the world and that’s how I remain passionate for it and forever will be!

4. What are some of your favourite asanas to relax your body and mind?

I really like practicing the ‘Triangle Pose’. Its a very simple aasana that stretches your lower body. I also love practicing ‘Plow Pose’ and ‘Headstand’ as I find myself so comfortable while practising them.

5. Are you a part of any yoga community that you would like to share?

Proud to say that we have our own community, consisting of over 500+ members at this point. We practice, get inspired, appreciate each other and heal together.

6. Do you view yoga as more mental or physical?

It’s a beautiful combination of both 🙂

7. Any event that you are looking forward to participating in?

There is no such event in my bucket list till now but we have this vision that as a community we grow on a tremendous level and organize an event like “Health fest” for 3-4 days where yogis from all over the world come and enjoy the Indian culture and we practice together wherein each participant would feel the effects on a positive note. We want our event to be in everybody’s bucket list.

8. To conclude this interview, please tell readers what steps you take to include yoga in your daily routine to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

If you are already a practitioner then commit yourself to a practice and make sure to show up on your mat 4-5 times a week all by yourself and one you fall in love with the practice then there is no going back. Or If you are someone new to Yoga or not consistent with your practice then I would suggest you to take guidance of an experienced yoga instructor and join classes either online/offline.
