Hello Ms. Zinnia. Welcome to HealthRoom!
1. Please tell the readers a bit about yourself.
I’m a counsellor and mental health therapist helping you overcome issues in your career, relationships, self-development and more.
2. What made you inclined in becoming a health counsellor?
Working on myself I realised that therapy is so effective and powerful and if accessed by more can help one live a better life. This is what enabled me to take this up as a profession.
3. What do you do outside of work that helps you maintain a healthy, well-balanced life?
I dance, meet friends, meditate, read and work on myself to balance out the constant negativity I listen to on a daily basis.
4. What do you love the most about your work?
Being able to work with so many people with different issues and helping them enable themselves to live a better life is what I love the most about my work.
5. What do you consider to be your top three strengths as a health counsellor?
The three top strengths are Empathy, Non-Judgemental and Trustworthy.
6. What are the benefits one can get by taking sessions with the health counsellor?
One gets a 360-degree perspective of life connected with the issue. One can vent easily One can finally move ahead in life progressing ahead There is overall holistic development that takes place in the individual One gets better enabled to work and deal with environmental issues and internal issues.
7. Can you explain your clinical process before, during and after a session with a client?
We start with a 20min consultation call to understand the client and issue and how we can work ahead The first session focuses on case history, rapport formation and setting the agenda for therapy The sessions after we start focusing on the issues After the session the client is given exercises to work on to make the client dependent on self The concluding session focuses on the insight achieved via therapy, the tools used in therapy and progressing ahead.
8. What are some of the most common myths that you come across?
Therapy is for the crazy, You don’t take therapy for minor issues I don’t see any issue physically so nothing is wrong with me.
9. To conclude this interview, would you like to share any message for the readers who resonates with you?
Positive Mental Health is for everyone. Taking care of your mental health enables you to move ahead in life better with a better and stronger perspective as you have the tools needed to progress ahead.
