India records lowest new COVID-19 cases in 5 months, recovery rate rises above 95%

India recorded 22,065 new coronavirus infections, bringing its total to 9.9 million, data from the health ministry, addressing it the lowest daily rise since July.

With 355 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the toll rose to 1,43,710.

The total current cases are at 3,39,821 while the whole settled cases at 94,22,637 with 34,478 new discharges in the last 24 hours.

The percentage of active COVID-19 cases in the total number of infections has further shrunk below 3.5%.

Amidst the states, Maharashtra recorded 2,950 new coronavirus cases on Monday driving the total number of plagues in the state to 18,83,366. According to the state health department, with 4,611 discharges, the total number of recovered cases reaches 17,61,616. The demise toll attains at 48,270 after 61 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. There are 72,385 active COVID cases in Maharashtra.

Kerala recorded 2,708 new COVID cases and 4,482 revivals in the last 24 hours. The total number of current and recovered cases in the state are 57,641 and 6,11,601 individually. The death toll rises to 2,648 after 24 deaths recorded on Monday.

Delhi recorded 1,377 new COVID cases, 2,855 recoveries, and 61 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the Health Department. The complete number of cases in the national capital now reaches 6,08,831, including 5,83,510 recoveries, 15,248 current cases and 10,075 deaths.
