5 Things You Should Eat This Summer

The thought of healthy eating always runs through our mind a dozen times a day. It makes us a serious question that the chocolate or grilled cheese sandwich and butterscotch cake that we conveniently devoured while watching our diet plan fly right out of the window.

Most of us lead lives where we’ve been tucked into a food routine and are desperately trying to claw our way out of it. Amidst a number of lifestyle problems to deal with, we tend to forget or ignore granny’s simple remedy of eating fresh, seasonal foods.

What is so special about eating foods that are in season? They’ve got much flavor, that extra crunch, and are extremely rich in vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients. Summer seasons include a lot of melons, green vegetables, peaches, mangoes, corn, and other fresh and fragrant herbs. Consuming foods that are not in season may come with a risk of chemicals and preservatives that are applied to fruits and veggies to keep them fresh.

So here are 5 best summer foods you should eat:

3. Salad leaves

Amaranth leaves, basil, rocket leaves, and other summer herbs should be mixed in a salad bowl and topped off with yogurt to make a great summer salad. They create a powerhouse of nutrition and are a great way to lose weight. Bung in fruits, peppers, mint, nuts, white meat, or coriander leaves to make a light and delicious meal.
